Ro-Ro Vessels


Two sister ships, Vans Pincess and Vans Queen have arrived at Remontowa S.A..They are 20-year-old car-passenger ro-ro vessels, built in a Japanese shipyard. Each of them is 121m long and 20m broad. They belong to a well-known shipowner, Vega Reederi. The scope of work undertaken on both vessels is similar. The main job is the repair of an 80-tons-entrance-ramp, consisting of 5 parts and broken 3 times.

 

Vans Princess

Isolde, a car carrier belonging to Wallenius Ship Management Pte. Ltd. was built in 1985 in Sweden. It is a unit with gross tonnage of 30,000, which carries cars on 13 decks. In its everyday life, Isolde cruises around the globe, between Europe, USA and Japan. The vessel arrived at Remontowa S.A. for docking and hull treatment. The works included a general overhaul, cleaning of heavy fuel tanks, overhaul of both boilers: auxiliary and utilizing, sandblasting and painting of two entrance ramps and the overhaul of 55 car deck ventilator cowls.

Last year, another car carrier from the same shipowner, Medea, was repaired in our shipyard. In the beginning of 2001, the next car carrier, Platinum Ray, belonging to Stamco Ship Management Company Ltd entered the shipyard. It was 200m long, 32.3m and gross tonnage of 57,772. The unit went through the warranty repair, the heating coil in the fuel tanks was repaired and a damaged part of sheathing was renewed.
